The HF Crave Story.
Hollenbeck Farms was homesteaded in 1901 as Isaac & Rachel Hollenbeck moved to Elmwood Nebraska from St Joseph, Missouri. The family produced grain and raised hereford cattle. This tradition of hard work and quality product has been passed down to each generation since then.
In 1992 JR Hollenbeck and his father Myron Hollenbeck Sr. started using artificial breeding as a technique to achieve superior genetics with the herd. The use of artificial breeding in the Maine-Anjou cross herd has resulted in a premium quality product.
Hollenbeck Farms All Natural Meats was born in 2005 when JR & Marcy Hollenbeck started marketing and retailing their farm fresh, all natural beef to local Nebraska Communities. Retailing frozen meats and gift packages, especially at area farmers' markets & events established a loyal customer base. Grilling HF Burgers on site brought their customers back craving more week after week.
From local farmers markets and neighborhood grocers, Hollenbeck Farms did not stop. The products made their way into several restaurants. In 2009 The Twisted Cork Bistro in Omaha Nebraska was voted the Best Burger in Nebraska. by Food Network Magazine. The secret ingredient - Hollenbeck Farms All Natural Beef.
As consumers experienced the difference of Hollenbeck Farms All Natural Meats and fell in love with the grilled burgers, JR & Marcy Hollenbeck were craving more. In 2010, HF Crave was on its way as Hollenbeck Farms began researching the gourmet burger restaurant market. The research helped identify an up and coming market for gourmet burger restaurants in the country. More specifically, a Better Burger concept known for using higher quality ingredients.
Hollenbeck Farms used the Better Burger concept to establish HF Crave. HF Crave is a fast casual burger restaurant, focused on the all natural meats from Hollenbeck Farms. Local, fresh ingredients topped with fresh baked buns from a local bakery set their concept apart from the rest. HF Crave was also designed to showcase and retail the frozen meat products and packages from Hollenbeck Farms.
